Designed to provide students with practical experience regarding Indian law issues, the Indian Law Clinic is an in-house clinical program focusing primarily on issues and problems affecting tribal governments and justice systems located in Montana and Wyoming. The Indian Law Clinic provides legal research and technical assistance on Indian law issues to a variety of individuals and entities. Due to limited resources, the Indian Law Clinic generally provides assistance on matters impacting tribal sovereignty, cultural preservation and economic conditions within Indian country.
Missoula Open Space Integrated Plant Management Program offers volunteer opportunities where you can earn 1-3 credits per semester. You can help lead field trips, enter classrooms to help kids grow native plants for restoration projects, or work in the greenhouse.

While volunteer experience is not a requirement for psychology majors, it is recommended that students considering a career in psychology (or other mental health service areas) gain experience in working in the human services area. Besides providing a valuable community service, you will be able to judge whether this is an area that actually interests you, and demonstrate to potential employers or graduate admissions committees that you are committed and competent in the field.
