Service Opportunities
The OCE offers many opportunities for students and interested individuals to volunteer and serve at various organizations on the UM campus and in the Missoula community.
AmeriCorps Opportunities
AmeriCorps is a network of local, state, and national service programs that connects more than 70,000 Americans through yearly intensive service. AmeriCorps members work to meet critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. The OCE’s Campus Corps AmeriCorps programs offer service opportunities to students as well as interested individuals in the community. Members of Campus Corps programs serve at different non-profit organizations in Missoula for one year at a time and receive Education Awards at the end of their year of service.

Volunteer Opportunities
Alternative Spring Break 2012 - As part of our goal of promoting volunteerism and service-learning activity at the University of Montana, we bring you the Alternative Breaks Program. Alternative Breaks coordinates three trips every year (one over winter break and two over spring break) where teams of students travel to a new community and perform short-term volunteer projects during school breaks. The focus of each trip ranges from improving social conditions of those in need to working with the disabled to working on environmental improvement projects.
Interested students can attend the OCE’s Volunteer Fair, which is held once each semester at the University Center on the UM campus. At the Volunteer Fair, students, faculty, and staff can learn more about different volunteer options in the Missoula community.
Students can access volunteer opportunities in Missoula on UM’s Student Jobs website.
Students can access contact information for local Missoula organizations by clicking here.
Students, staff, and faculty can also choose to participate in one of many volunteer projects facilitated by the OCE throughout the school year.
The OCE also offers several work-study opportunities for students, including the Alternative Breaks Coordinator position and general administrative positions. Call 243-5531 for more information about work-study.
