About the DHC

Honors education in general, and the Davidson Honors College in particular, provides students with many unique educational opportunities.

The Davidson Honors College provides outstanding undergraduate students with extraordinary educational and cultural opportunities. Honors College students enroll in challenging courses and participate in special experiences outside the classroom that enhance the regular offerings and activities of the University. The Honors College is open to students in any academic major, and it offers the intensive learning environment of a small liberal arts and sciences college within a larger research university.

The Davidson Honors College:

Offers an intensive learning environment and a community of 600 exceptionally talented students within the context of a public research university enrolling 14,000 students.
Offers great opportunities for close work with outstanding teachers and scholars in smaller classes, with a maximum of 20 students in each Honors course.
Offers its students a flexible curriculum as a complement to virtually every academic major available on campus.
Offers exciting experimental and interdisciplinary courses in a broad range of disciplines.
Provides its students with the chance to engage in undergraduate research. One of our requirements is a senior honors research project in any major or interdisciplinary area for which the student is prepared.
Provides special opportunities for its students to develop oral and written communication skills, community service experience, and leadership abilities.
Is staffed by highly qualified, friendly, and helpful staff members who care about all of our students. Has a great building with outstanding facilities: a large lounge, computer lab, study areas, and seminar style classrooms with new technologies.
Offers mentoring of students for scholarships, internships, and study abroad opportunities.
Offers several student organizations and activities that enhance students' social and academic lives.
